I absolutely love this photo of Hazel. My first visit to the Smoky Mountains was in April 2017. I have been searching for a black bear photo for years and this one stole my heart. This beautiful girl was photographed the same year. I am very pleased with the canvas print!!

Artist's Description
Pacific Black Ducks are a common sight in Australia. Being considered another "boring brown bird" by some, I wanted to prove that a common, "plain", species may indeed be an object of great beauty and interest.
This painting was a finalist in the inaugural Waterhouse Natural History Art Prize 2003. It was also the winner of the WABA Wildlife Art Award 2005, and received a Highly Commended award at the Wildlife Art @ Discovery 2007 exhibition.

This is extremely beautiful, if the pelican was your first effort at water (and I think 56 hours is going well!) then your mastery has really reached something that must satisfy you.
Frances McMahon Watercolour Bird Artist replied:
Leonie, apologies for me not getting back to you sooner. Thanks so much for your kind comments, fellow Aussie! Means a huge amount to me when other artists appreciate what I do...a HUGE compliment indeed. Thanks again!
